The Galaxy M22 is a 2021 phone whose standout everyday feature is its smooth screen: the 6.4-inch Super AMOLED refreshes at 90 Hz. Add to that a 5000 mAh battery with 25 W charging, a fingerprint reader in the side button and a 48 MP main camera with optical stabilisation. The phone is slim too – 8.4 mm thick and 186 g.

At SWOPiFY you'll find used and refurbished Samsung Galaxy M22 phones in the 128 GB version, in white, black and blue. Units are technically checked by SWOPiFY partners, and those with faults go for repair first.

What can the Galaxy M22 do?

Thanks to 90 Hz, scrolling through pages, lists and social media is noticeably smoother than at the standard 60 Hz, and AMOLED gives you deep blacks. There's a catch, though: the resolution is HD+ (1600 × 720), so up close small text doesn't look as sharp as on Full HD screens. Sound comes from a single speaker.

The front is covered with glass, while the back and frame are plastic. The fingerprint reader is built into the power button on the side, so the phone unlocks as you hold it naturally. The Galaxy M22 has NFC, which means you can pay contactlessly with it in shops.

Processor, cameras and battery

It runs on the MediaTek Helio G80 with 4 GB of RAM and eMMC 5.1 storage. It's a processor for basic tasks: messaging apps, email, web browsing and YouTube videos work fine, but apps open more slowly than on newer phones, and in games you'll need to lower the settings. On the back Samsung fitted four cameras: a 48 MP main with OIS, an 8 MP ultra-wide, a 2 MP macro and a 2 MP depth sensor. Optical stabilisation helps with evening shots and when recording Full HD video. Selfies are taken with a 13 MP camera.

Paired with an HD+ screen, the 5000 mAh battery uses energy sparingly and lasts a full day in normal use. Fast wired charging runs at 25 W; there's no wireless charging.

What should you check before buying?

The biggest compromise is the screen resolution – if you read a lot, think about whether HD+ is enough for you. On the plus side, there's a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a dedicated microSD slot, so both SIM cards stay where they are. The box contains a cable but no power adapter – for 25 W you need a USB-C charger compatible with Samsung fast charging.

The Galaxy M22 launched with Android 11 and received two major updates, up to Android 13 with One UI Core 5.1. In November 2025 Samsung removed it from the list of models covered by security patches, so since then the phone hasn't received any updates. New vulnerabilities won't be fixed, and over time some apps, including banking apps, may stop supporting it. The M22 is still a sensible choice as a backup phone, for a child or for an older person who needs a big screen and simple features. The Galaxy M23 5G has a sharper Full HD+ screen and 5G, but its support has ended too.

You can filter Galaxy M22 listings by:

  • storage – 128 GB;
  • RAM – 4 GB;
  • colour – white, black or blue;
  • price range;
  • condition.

For a phone like this, 128 GB is plenty of space – enough for apps, photos and offline music. If you ever run out, you can add a microSD card and still keep two numbers.

What does the technical check involve?

Before a Galaxy M22 goes on sale as refurbished, it goes through a 44-point checklist, including:

  • AMOLED display – touch response, brightness, pixels and burn-in;
  • battery – health and any deformation;
  • the four rear cameras and the front camera;
  • the fingerprint reader in the side button;
  • connectivity – Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and NFC;
  • SIM and memory card detection;
  • speaker, microphones, USB-C port and headphone output.

Can you trust a refurbished Galaxy M22?

A refurbished Samsung Galaxy M22 from SWOPiFY is a used unit. It has been checked by SWOPiFY partners and, if needed, repaired as well. We don't claim it's new, and we don't suggest that anywhere.

Your purchase comes with a warranty. We describe the condition of every unit with one of four grades: Premium, Excellent, Good or Fair, taking both its looks and its battery into account. If the M22 is going to be a child's phone, a "Good" or "Fair" grade will save you money – it'll spend most of its time in a case anyway.
