The Super AMOLED screen has Full HD+ resolution, supports HDR10+ and reaches 1000 nits in high brightness mode. Vision Booster adjusts colours and contrast to harsh light, so on the beach or the ski slopes you can still see what's on the screen. Sound from the two stereo speakers is clear and fairly loud. You'll find the fingerprint reader under the screen.
The frame is plastic, but glass on both sides gives the feel of a solid device. The IP67 rating protects the phone against dust and submersion up to a metre for 30 minutes. With NFC, you can pay contactlessly with the phone.
Processor, cameras and battery
The 5 nm Exynos 1380 works with 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM. For everyday tasks it's more than enough: apps open quickly, and popular games run smoothly on medium settings. On the back there are three cameras – a 50 MP main camera with optical image stabilisation, a 12 MP ultra-wide and a 5 MP macro. You take selfies with the 32 MP camera, which records video in 4K.
With moderate use, the 5000 mAh battery often lasts more than a day. The phone charges by cable at 25 W. Samsung didn't include wireless charging here.
What should you look out for before buying?
The Galaxy A54 5G has no 3.5 mm jack, so you can only connect wired headphones via USB-C. The card slot is hybrid: microSD or a second SIM. The glass back looks good, but it's easier to break in a fall than plastic, so it's worth buying a case straight away. The phone weighs 202 g, so you definitely notice it in your pocket.
Support is still ongoing. Samsung announced four major Android updates and five years of security patches for this model, which means until 2028. In June 2026 Samsung started rolling out One UI 8.5 to it, and security patches still arrive regularly. Under the promise, it has one more major update left, to Android 17. The Galaxy A55 adds a metal frame and a year's longer support.

Watch the RAM in the listing name: the 6/128 GB version is enough for calls, photos and social media, but if you keep lots of apps open at once, 8 GB will serve you better. With two SIM cards, choose 256 GB, as you won't be able to add a microSD card.
