The 1080 × 2408 resolution keeps text, maps and photos crisp even on a large screen. The 90 Hz refresh rate gives smoother scrolling, and the front camera is tucked into a small teardrop notch. It's an LCD panel, so blacks look greyer than on AMOLED screens. Sound comes from a single speaker on the bottom edge.

The fingerprint reader is in the power button on the side of the body. The back and frame are plastic, with no water-resistance rating. The phone has NFC, so you can pay in shops by holding it to the card terminal.

Processor, cameras and battery

The Dimensity 700 is a 7 nm chip with a built-in 5G modem. With 4 GB of RAM it handles everyday apps, streaming and video calls, and lighter games run smoothly on medium settings. With a dozen or so browser tabs open and a game in the background, though, memory starts to run short. On the back there are three cameras: a 48 MP main camera, a 5 MP ultra-wide and a 2 MP depth sensor. Selfies are taken with an 8 MP camera.

The 5000 mAh battery gives you a full day, even with 5G and navigation in use. Wired charging is 15 W. This model doesn't support wireless charging.

What should you check before buying?

You'll only get 5G if your operator and tariff include it and there's coverage where you are. The main camera has no optical stabilisation, so night shots blur more easily. The microSD card has its own place in the tray and doesn't take up the second SIM slot. The 3.5 mm headphone jack has stayed on the bottom edge.

The phone got Android 13 as its last major update. In July 2025, Samsung stopped releasing security patches and software updates for it, so the situation as of 20 October 2026 is clear: no patches have arrived for more than a year. Apps still work, but the number of unpatched vulnerabilities grows every month, and banks may stop supporting this system in the future. As a phone for a teenager, for an older relative to make video calls with the family or as a spare with 5G, it still makes sense. The 4G Galaxy A22, on the other hand, has an AMOLED screen and optical stabilisation in the main camera, but doesn't support 5G.
