The Galaxy M20 is a simple 2019 Samsung phone built around a 5000 mAh battery. It has a 6.3-inch screen with a small teardrop notch for the selfie camera, a plastic body and a fingerprint reader on the back. It's most at home with basic tasks: calls, texts, messaging apps, listening to music and navigation in the car.

At SWOPiFY you'll find used and refurbished Samsung Galaxy M20 phones in the 64 GB version with 4 GB of RAM, in black and blue. Every unit goes through a technical check with SWOPiFY partners, and any faults found are fixed by a repair service before the phone appears in our listings.

What can the Galaxy M20 do?

The screen is a PLS LCD panel with Full HD+ resolution (2340 × 1080). Text looks sharp and colours natural, though blacks aren't as deep as on AMOLED screens. The refresh rate is the standard 60 Hz. Sound comes from a single speaker.

The body is plastic with glass on the front, and the whole phone weighs 186 g. The fingerprint reader sits in the middle of the back, right where your index finger naturally lands.

Processor, cameras and battery

Inside is the Exynos 7904 with 4 GB of RAM, and data is stored on eMMC memory. Let's be straight about it: in 2026 that's a weak combination. Messaging apps, video calls and the browser work, but apps open more slowly, and switching between them can cause stutters. Stick to simple games. There are two cameras on the back: a 13 MP main and a 5 MP ultra-wide. Daytime photos are decent, but after dark they quickly lose detail. Selfies are handled by an 8 MP camera, and video is recorded in Full HD.

The battery is 5000 mAh and, with simple use, easily lasts a full day, often longer. The phone charges by cable at 15 W through its USB-C port. There's no wireless charging.

What should you check before buying?

The Galaxy M20 has a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a dedicated microSD slot, so you can expand storage without giving up your second SIM. Only some market versions had NFC – if paying with your phone matters to you, check the unit's specs. The box contains just a cable – a regular USB charger will work, but only one compatible with Samsung fast charging gives you the full 15 W.

The most important issue is the software. The last major update for the Galaxy M20 was Android 10 with One UI 2, which started rolling out to this model in Europe in February 2020. The phone also stopped getting security patches long ago and isn't on the list of models covered by Samsung updates. Known vulnerabilities will remain unpatched, and some banking apps may stop working on such an old system over time. That's why the M20 makes sense as a backup phone, a simple phone for calls for an older relative, a child's first phone or in-car navigation – not as your only device for banking. If you need current support and a similarly long-lasting battery, take a look at the Galaxy M15 5G.

You can filter Galaxy M20 listings by:

  • storage – 64 GB;
  • RAM – 4 GB;
  • colour – black or blue;
  • price range;
  • condition.

Since the M20 comes in a single storage version, focus mainly on the condition grade and battery health when choosing. Move your photos and music to a microSD card – 64 GB of eMMC storage fills up quickly, and nearly full storage slows the phone down even more.

What does the technical check involve?

Before a Galaxy M20 goes on sale as refurbished, it goes through a 44-point checklist, including:

  • LCD screen – touch, backlight, discolouration and the condition of the glass;
  • battery – capacity compared with the factory spec and physical condition;
  • both rear cameras and the front camera;
  • the fingerprint reader on the back;
  • connectivity – Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS;
  • both SIM cards and the microSD slot;
  • speaker, microphone, USB-C port and headphone jack.

Can you trust a refurbished Galaxy M20?

A refurbished Samsung Galaxy M20 from SWOPiFY is a used phone: SWOPiFY partners checked it first, and if something wasn't right, it went for repair. It doesn't pretend to be a new device, and we never suggest that it is.

Every order comes with a warranty. For each unit we give its condition grade – Premium, Excellent, Good or Fair – which reflects the look of the casing and the health of the battery. For a backup phone that mostly sits in a drawer, a cheaper grade with minor scratches is usually more than enough.
