Huawei Smartphones used and refurbished

Popular filters:

Huawei has long offered phones with a good camera and a solid battery, often for less than comparable models from other brands. Buying refurbished brings the price down even further, without giving up the specs that actually matter day to day. You usually won't notice a year or two's difference in release date in everyday use – but your wallet certainly will.

In this category you'll find used and refurbished Huawei phones, from the flagship P and Pura series, through the mid-range Nova, to the simpler Y-series phones. Every handset passes a technical check and, where needed, servicing by SWOPiFY partners before it goes back on sale.

Which Huawei phones will you find in this category?

The P series – the P30 Lite, P30 Pro and P60 Pro – puts the focus on the camera and design, good for photos as well as everyday use. The Pura 70 Pro represents the newest and most advanced line on offer, with the best camera of all the models here. The Mate 20 Lite is older but still works well, and suits anyone who mainly wants a low price.

The Nova 11i and Nova Y90 target the mid-range: a sensible balance of capability and cost. The Y7 2018 and Y7 Prime 2018 are the simplest phones in this category and make sense when the basics are what count – calls, messages and the apps you use most. They're also the cheapest way into the brand if you're after a spare phone or a first smartphone for your child.

Why consider a refurbished Huawei?

A refurbished Huawei phone costs less than the same model bought new. With higher-end models such as the P60 Pro or Pura 70 Pro, the price difference can be really significant, so it's worth checking before you decide to buy a new phone. Sometimes a refurbished top-tier model works out cheaper than a new mid-range one.

There's a second side to it as well. A phone that goes back on sale instead of being scrapped is one less device among the e-waste. That doesn't make the purchase fully green – claiming so would be a stretch – but it is a practical way to extend the life of a device that has already been made, rather than sending it straight to the scrapheap.

What should you look out for before buying?

Newer Huawei models may have limited access to Google services, including the Play Store, depending on the year and software version. If using Google apps matters to you, check the individual product page before you buy, especially with newer models from the Pura or P series. Older models such as the P30 Lite or Mate 20 Lite usually don't have this limitation.

Beyond that, in this category you can filter phones by:

  • storage, from 64 GB to 512 GB;
  • RAM, from 4 GB to 12 GB;
  • colour;
  • price range;
  • condition.

If you plan to keep the phone for a while, go for more storage from the start, as you can't add it later. It's also worth keeping an eye on battery health, which is described alongside the condition grade in every listing.

Can you trust refurbished Huawei phones?

The refurbished Huawei phones in this category are used devices, technically checked and, where necessary, repaired by SWOPiFY partners before going back on sale. They are not new phones still in their wrapping, and we never suggest otherwise.

Every device comes with a warranty, and each phone's condition is marked with its own grade, so before you buy you know what to expect from the look and contents of that particular handset. That way you compare offers not just on price but on the actual condition of each unit.

Got an old phone you no longer use?

You can trade it in through our buyback programme and knock some money off your next purchase. It's an easier way to switch phones than hunting for a buyer yourself, and your old device goes back into circulation instead of gathering dust in a drawer for years.

Browse the Huawei models on offer and pick the one that fits how you actually use your phone – not whatever the manufacturer happens to be advertising.
