Saying the console is refurbished means it’s not brand-new but pre-owned and has been restored through a refurbishment process. Our partners inspect, repair (replace defective parts if needed), test and clean the device to make sure it works properly. We don’t guarantee it will be flawless or that all parts are original, and we cannot promise it retains its original water-resistance.
The PS4 Slim is not more powerful than the original PS4 because both use the same processor and graphics unit, so games perform equally well. The main differences are in the design. The Slim is smaller, lighter, produces less heat and usually runs more quietly. It also supports 5 GHz Wi-Fi, which the older version lacked. If your current PS4 still works fine, switching to the Slim will not make a big difference.
Yes, buying a PS4 Slim can be worthwhile, especially if you want access to console gaming without overspending. In a refurbished version you pay less than for a brand-new unit while still getting a device that has been tested and repaired by our partners. Just keep in mind that it might not be perfect, some parts may not be original, and we cannot guarantee original water resistance. If you’re looking for solid gaming experience and are okay with these trade-offs, a refurbished PS4 Slim is a smart choice.
The PS4 Slim was released in September 2016, so it’s about 9 years old now.
There’s no single “best” PS4 version for everyone, because it really depends on your setup and priorities. If you play on a regular Full HD TV and want a compact, cost-effective option, the PS4 Slim offers a solid balance of size, price, and performance. If you own a 4K TV and want richer visuals or smoother graphics, the PS4 Pro makes more sense. The original PS4 is less attractive now compared to Slim or Pro, so most people choose between Slim and Pro based on their needs and budget.
No, the PS4 Slim does not support native 4K for games or video. The console outputs a maximum resolution of 1080p. It can be connected to a 4K TV, but the TV will upscale the image on its own.
Start by turning off the console completely and unplugging all cables. Use a soft microfiber cloth to gently wipe the exterior and remove dust. Blow compressed air into the vents and ports while keeping the can upright and not too close to the device. If you want to clean inside, carefully remove the top cover and use short bursts of air to clear out the fan and components while holding the blades still. You can also use dry cotton swabs or a soft brush to reach tight spots. After cleaning, let the console rest for a few hours before putting it back together and reconnecting everything.
The PS4 Slim was commonly released in 500 GB and 1 TB internal storage versions. The 1 TB variant became more common over time. For refurbished consoles you should check the specific unit’s listing, as our refurbishment partners might use different drives.
To eject a disc from the PS4 Slim press the eject button on the front of the console. The disc will slide out slightly and you can gently remove it by holding the edges. If the button does not work or the disc is stuck you can use the manual eject option. Turn the console upside down locate the small hole for manual ejection insert a thin Phillips screwdriver and turn it slowly counterclockwise until the disc comes out.
