Samsung Galaxy A13 used and refurbished
The Galaxy A13 is a simple, large phone for everyday things: a 6.6-inch Full HD+ screen, a 5000 mAh battery and a fingerprint reader that unlocks it with a single touch of your thumb. Calls, WhatsApp, maps and holiday photos – for that it's enough, no fuss.
At SWOPiFY you'll find used and refurbished Samsung Galaxy A13 phones in 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB versions, in black, blue and white – including a single SIM variant. Every unit goes through a technical check by SWOPiFY partners before it goes on sale, and faults are fixed at the repair shop before the phone appears in the listings.
What can the Galaxy A13 do?
The PLS LCD display is sharp, so small text is comfortable to read. It refreshes at 60 Hz. Scrolling is fine, though not as smooth as on 90 and 120 Hz screens. Sound comes from a single speaker on the bottom edge – enough for speakerphone calls and short videos, but for a longer viewing session it's better to reach for headphones.
The back and frame are plastic, and the front is protected by Gorilla Glass 5. The phone has no water-resistance rating, so keep it away from rain and the tap. The fingerprint reader is built into the power button. The Galaxy A13 supports NFC, so you can pay contactless with it in shops.
Processor, cameras and battery
Most units run on the Exynos 850, while the refreshed SM-A137F variant uses the MediaTek Helio G80. Both are simple entry-level chips, backed by 3 or 4 GB of RAM. Messaging apps, email, YouTube and navigation run without a hitch, but with lots of apps open the phone can hesitate, and demanding games will only run on low settings. On the back there are four cameras: a 50 MP main camera, a 5 MP ultra-wide and two 2 MP helpers – for macro and depth sensing. Selfies are taken with an 8 MP camera.
The 5000 mAh battery lasts all day with light use. The phone supports fast wired charging over USB-C. There's no wireless charging.
What should you check before buying?
The first thing is storage. The Galaxy A13 uses eMMC storage, which is slower than the UFS in pricier phones, and in the 32 GB version there's really very little space left once the system is installed. Luckily it has a separate microSD slot, so you can expand the storage without giving up your second number. The 3.5 mm headphone jack is still there too – wired headphones plug in without an adapter.
The second thing is the software. The last major update was Android 14 with One UI 6, and in May 2026 Samsung removed the Galaxy A13 from the list of devices receiving security patches. The phone keeps working, but it no longer gets fixes, and over time some apps – especially banking ones – may stop supporting it. It's therefore best as a backup phone, a child's first smartphone or a simple handset for calls and messaging for an older relative. If you need a phone for banking for years to come, consider the Galaxy A15, which still gets updates.
You can filter Galaxy A13 units by:
- storage – 32 GB, 64 GB or 128 GB;
- RAM – 3 GB or 4 GB, depending on the version;
- colour;
- price range;
- condition.
For calls, texts and one messaging app, the 64 GB version is enough. If the phone is going to a child who installs games and takes loads of photos, choose 128 GB or buy a microSD card straight away.
How does the technical check work?
Before a Galaxy A13 goes on sale as refurbished, it goes through a 44-point checklist, including:
- screen – touch response, brightness, dead pixels and the condition of the glass;
- battery – cell health and physical condition;
- four rear cameras and the selfie camera;
- fingerprint reader in the power button;
- connectivity – Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and NFC;
- SIM and microSD card detection;
- speaker, microphones, headphone jack and USB-C port.
Can you trust a refurbished Galaxy A13?
A refurbished Samsung Galaxy A13 from SWOPiFY is a used phone that SWOPiFY partners have checked and, where needed, repaired. We don't pretend it's new and never suggest that it is.
Every purchase is covered by a warranty. The appearance and battery condition of each unit are described by one of four grades: Premium, Excellent, Good or Fair. For a backup phone or one for a child, a cheaper unit with scratches is often enough, and if looks matter to you, go for a higher grade.
Got an old smartphone you no longer use?
Sell it through the trade-in programme and the amount you get comes off the purchase price. No posting adverts or meeting random buyers, and a working phone can still be useful to someone.
