Samsung Galaxy A53 used and refurbished
The Galaxy A53 5G is a phone with a big 5000 mAh battery and a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate. It came out in March 2022 with an Exynos 1280 processor and a matte plastic body rated IP67. It suits someone who does a lot of browsing, typing and watching, and less gaming.
At SWOPiFY you'll find used and refurbished Samsung Galaxy A53 5G phones with 128 GB or 256 GB of storage, in black, white, blue and orange (Samsung called this shade peach). Some units are single-SIM versions. All of them are checked technically by SWOPiFY partners, and if one needs repairing, it visits a repair centre first.
What can the Galaxy A53 5G do?
The display has Full HD+ resolution, up to 800 nits in high brightness mode and Gorilla Glass 5. The picture has strong contrast, and 120 Hz makes scrolling and animations look smooth. Sound comes from two stereo speakers, so you can watch a film on the sofa without headphones. An optical fingerprint reader under the screen takes care of unlocking.
The frame and back are matte plastic, so the phone sits securely in your hand and doesn't pick up many fingerprints. The body is dust-tight and can handle half an hour under water at a depth of one metre. NFC is on board, so contactless payments work without a card in your wallet.
Processor, cameras and battery
The Exynos 1280 is a 5 nm chip, usually paired with 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM. It runs messaging apps, the browser, maps and shopping apps efficiently, but in heavier games it's better to turn down the graphics settings. The 64 MP main camera has optical stabilisation, which helps with photos after dark. It's joined by a 12 MP ultra-wide lens, a 5 MP macro and a 5 MP depth sensor, with a 32 MP camera on the front.
The 5000 mAh battery is a strong point of this model – with typical use it easily lasts a day. Wired charging runs at 25 W. You can't use a wireless charger with it.
What should you look out for before buying?
The Galaxy A53 5G has no 3.5 mm headphone jack, so for wired headphones you need a USB-C adapter or a wireless pair. In the dual-SIM version the slot is hybrid – a microSD card takes the place of the second number.
The update situation is clear. Samsung promised this model four major Android updates and delivered: in October 2025 the phone got the last of them, Android 16 with One UI 8. Security patches still arrive, but according to Samsung's list now once a quarter, and five-year support from launch is due to end in 2027. The newer Galaxy A54 5G has a glass back and patches promised until 2028.
You can filter Galaxy A53 5G phones by:
- storage – 128 GB or 256 GB;
- RAM – 4 to 8 GB, depending on the version;
- colour;
- price range;
- condition.
Use two numbers? Then a memory card is out, so it's better to go for 256 GB from the start. With one number, you can buy the 128 GB version and add a microSD card for photos and videos if you need to.
What does the technical check involve?
Before a Galaxy A53 5G goes on sale as refurbished, it goes through a 44-point checklist, including:
- screen – touch, brightness, dead pixels, the condition of the glass;
- battery – capacity and physical condition;
- the rear cameras and the front camera;
- the in-display fingerprint reader;
- connectivity – 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and NFC;
- SIM and memory card detection;
- stereo speakers, microphones and USB-C connector.
Can you trust a refurbished Galaxy A53 5G?
A refurbished Samsung Galaxy A53 5G from SWOPiFY is a used phone – SWOPiFY partners have checked it and, where necessary, repaired it before shipping. We don't list it as new and make no such promise.
Every purchase is covered by a warranty. The cosmetic condition and the battery are described by one of four grades: Premium, Excellent, Good or Fair. So you know before you order whether you'll get a unit with barely any marks or a cheaper one with scratches on the frame or back.
