Samsung Galaxy A21s used and refurbished
The Galaxy A21s is a phone that rarely makes you think about the charger. Its 5000 mAh battery, paired with an HD+ screen, often lasts more than a day with moderate use. On the back there are four cameras led by a 48 MP main sensor, and on the front a small punch-hole for the camera instead of a wide notch. The model reached shops in June 2020.

What can the Galaxy A21s do?
The PLS LCD screen measures 6.5 inches with a resolution of 720 × 1600. The large surface comes in handy for films, maps and reading, although the picture isn't as sharp as on Full HD panels, and the refresh rate is a standard 60 Hz. The phone has a single speaker at the bottom, which is enough for calls and podcasts.
The body is plastic, with no water-resistance rating. You unlock it with the fingerprint reader on the back. The version sold in Poland has NFC, so the phone works for contactless payments.
Processor, cameras and battery
The Galaxy A21s runs on an Exynos 850 built on an 8 nm process, with 3 GB or 4 GB of RAM depending on the version. The browser, messaging apps, Spotify and navigation work fine, but switching quickly between apps can cause the odd stutter. Only simpler games will run. On the back there's a 48 MP main camera, an 8 MP ultra-wide and two 2 MP cameras – one for macro shots and one for background blur. Selfies are handled by a 13 MP camera.
The 5000 mAh battery is this phone's biggest strength. Wired charging runs at 15 W, so fully charging such a large battery takes a fair while. Wireless charging isn't on offer.
What should you check before buying?
The storage is an eMMC chip, slower than newer standards, which you'll notice when installing apps and saving photos. The 32 GB version is cramped. The microSD card has its own slot, so both SIM cards stay where they are, and the 3.5 mm headphone jack is still on the bottom edge.
The Galaxy A21s got Android 12 as its last major update, and the final security patch, from May 2024, closed its four-year support period. As of 20 October 2026, Samsung hasn't released any fixes for it in more than two years. That means growing risk when banking and logging in to important accounts, and some apps may stop working over time. It's best as a phone for a child, for an older relative who mostly makes calls and looks at photos of the grandchildren, or as a spare for trips. The Galaxy A22 has a 90 Hz AMOLED screen and received Android 13.

If you can, choose 64 GB or 128 GB. With the 32 GB version, after a few months you start running out of room for app updates, and a microSD card won't take over everything, because most apps install in the phone's memory anyway.
What does the technical check involve?
Before a Galaxy A21s goes on sale as refurbished, it goes through a 44-point checklist, including:
- screen – touch, brightness, dead pixels and the state of the glass;
- battery – capacity compared with a new one and physical condition;
- all four rear cameras and the front camera;
- fingerprint reader on the back;
- connectivity – Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC;
- SIM and microSD card detection;
- speaker, microphones, headphone jack and USB-C port.
