Xiaomi 12 Series used and refurbished

The Xiaomi 12 series is the first main generation of Xiaomi flagships without the "Mi" prefix. It debuted in China at the end of December 2021 and in Europe in March 2022. The idea was to split the flagship into several sizes and price points. The standout was the base Xiaomi 12 – with a 6.28-inch screen and a weight of around 180 g, it's a phone you can easily use with one hand.

At SWOPiFY you'll find used and refurbished Xiaomi 12 series phones – from the Xiaomi 12, 12X and 12 Pro, through the lighter 12 Lite, to the autumn 12T and 12T Pro and the camera-focused 12S Ultra. Technicians at SWOPiFY partners test each one before it's listed and fix any faults they find.

Which Xiaomi 12 models can you find at SWOPiFY?

The Xiaomi 12 and 12X share the same compact body, a 120 Hz AMOLED screen and a 50 MP main camera with optical stabilisation. The 12 has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor and 50 W wireless charging, while the 12X has the older Snapdragon 870 and only 67 W wired charging. The Xiaomi 12 Pro brings a bigger 6.73-inch screen, three 50 MP cameras and 120 W charging. The Xiaomi 12 Lite has a Snapdragon 778G, a 108 MP camera and a body just 7.3 mm thick – the pick for someone who wants a good-looking phone without paying for flagship hardware.

In autumn 2022 the 12T and 12T Pro joined the line-up. Both have a 6.67-inch screen, a 5000 mAh battery and 120 W charging, which according to Xiaomi fills the battery in about 19 minutes. The 12T runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 8100-Ultra with a 108 MP camera, and the 12T Pro on the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 with a 200 MP camera. Finally, there's the 12S Ultra with a 1-inch-type camera sensor – together with the rest of the 12S series, it was the first result of Xiaomi's partnership with Leica.

Why consider a refurbished Xiaomi 12?

A refurbished Xiaomi 12 costs you noticeably less than it did on launch day, and you get a phone with a smooth AMOLED screen and fast charging. The price difference may let you choose a 12T Pro or 12 Pro instead of a new mid-range phone.

A smartphone that goes back on sale means another one doesn't have to be made from scratch. You can't call it an environmental feat, but a phone from 2022 still has plenty to offer and it would be a shame to waste it.

What should you check before buying?

End of support, above all. According to the Xiaomi Trust Center, the 12X stopped receiving security patches in March 2025, the 12 and 12 Pro in March 2026, the 12 Lite in July 2026, and the 12T and 12T Pro on 13 October 2026. Right now no model in this series is updated any more. The 12T Pro's last major update was HyperOS 2 with Android 15, released in mid-2025. The 12S Ultra is a separate matter: Xiaomi officially sold it only in China. It doesn't support LTE band 20 (800 MHz), which many European operators use, especially outside cities, and it may have the Chinese version of the system – check in the unit's description which software it has installed.

You can filter Xiaomi 12 smartphones by:

  • storage – from 128 GB to 512 GB in the 12S Ultra;
  • RAM – from 6 GB in the 12 Lite to 12 GB in the Pro and Ultra versions;
  • colour – grey, blue, purple, black, silver, green and pink;
  • price range;
  • condition.

If you want the most powerful phone, go for the 12T Pro or 12 Pro. If comfort and a small size matter, choose the Xiaomi 12 – it's the only one that combines a compact body with wireless charging.

What does the technical check involve?

Before a Xiaomi 12 series smartphone goes on sale as refurbished, it goes through a 44-point checklist, including:

  • battery – capacity and physical condition after years of fast charging;
  • AMOLED screen – touch, brightness, discolouration and burn-in;
  • all cameras, including the 200 MP module in the 12T Pro;
  • in-display fingerprint reader and face unlock;
  • Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC and 5G;
  • SIM card detection;
  • speakers, microphones, USB-C port and wireless charging where available.

Can you trust refurbished Xiaomi 12 smartphones?

Refurbished Xiaomi 12 smartphones at SWOPiFY are used phones. SWOPiFY partners have tested them, and any faults were fixed before sale. We don't claim they're new devices.

The glass backs on most models in this series pick up scratches over time, so check the unit's grade before you order: Premium, Excellent, Good or Fair. It describes the look of the casing and the condition of the battery. Your purchase comes with a warranty, so you report any fault in one place.
