Samsung Galaxy A23 5G used and refurbished

The Galaxy A23 5G is a phone for someone who uses the internet a lot away from home. The 5G modem comes in handy for watching videos on the train, sharing a hotspot with your laptop or sending large photo files. The 6.6-inch screen refreshes at up to 120 Hz, and the 5000 mAh battery gets through a day without any trouble. Samsung launched this model in summer 2022.

At SWOPiFY you'll find used and refurbished Samsung Galaxy A23 5G phones in 64 GB and 128 GB versions, in black, white, blue and orange. Before a phone is listed, technicians at SWOPiFY partners test it, and if anything is off, they send it for repair.

What can the Galaxy A23 5G do?

The display is a Full HD+ LCD under Gorilla Glass 5. In 120 Hz mode, menus and scrolling pages move noticeably more smoothly, although during films and when idle the screen drops to 60 Hz on its own to save battery. GSMArena's reviewers noted that the phone has no conventional ambient light sensor, so auto-brightness can be less accurate and it's sometimes worth adjusting it by hand.

Sound comes from a single speaker on the bottom edge. That's fine for calls and podcasts; for films, you're better off with headphones. The body is plastic and has no water-resistance certification. The fingerprint reader sits in the side button, and the NFC module lets you pay with your phone at the till.

Processor, cameras and battery

Inside is a Snapdragon 695 5G, clearly livelier than the chips in the cheapest phones. Social media, navigation and simple games run smoothly, and with more demanding titles you only need to drop the graphics to medium. The phone came with 4, 6 or 8 GB of RAM – the smallest amount means apps reload in the background more often. The main camera is 50 MP with optical stabilisation, alongside a 5 MP ultra-wide and two 2 MP lenses for macro and depth. Selfies are taken with an 8 MP camera.

The 5000 mAh battery gets you through a full day of heavy use, and the phone did very well in GSMArena's endurance test. Wired charging goes up to 25 W, though you only get full speed with a charger that supports PD/PPS. There's no wireless charging.

What should you check before buying?

The Galaxy A23 5G has a 3.5 mm jack and a dedicated microSD slot next to the two SIM cards, so wired headphones and a memory card don't involve any compromise. Just remember that a higher refresh rate uses more power. If the battery is in poor health, switch the screen to 60 Hz.

Support is a different story. The Galaxy A23 5G received two major updates and ended on Android 14 with One UI 6, and in October 2026 Samsung removed it from the list of devices receiving security patches. There won't be any new patches, so over time banks and some services may stop supporting this model. A sensible use for it is a second phone for work, a device for a teenager, or navigation and a hotspot in the car. The non-5G variant has a slower 90 Hz screen and lost support even earlier, in April 2026.

You can filter Galaxy A23 5G units by:

  • storage – 64 GB or 128 GB;
  • RAM – from 4 GB, depending on the version;
  • colour;
  • price range;
  • condition.

If you have the choice, go for 128 GB and more RAM – the phone will stay smooth for longer. The 64 GB version with a microSD card will also cope, but apps still install in the internal storage.

What does the technical check involve?

Before a Galaxy A23 5G goes on sale as refurbished, it goes through a 44-point checklist, including:

  • display – touch response, brightness, pixels and scratches;
  • battery – health and the appearance of the cell;
  • rear and front cameras;
  • fingerprint reader in the side button;
  • Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC and 5G reception;
  • SIM and microSD card slots;
  • speaker, microphones, headphone jack and USB-C.

Can you trust a refurbished Galaxy A23 5G?

A refurbished Samsung Galaxy A23 5G from SWOPiFY is a used phone, tested by SWOPiFY partners and repaired if it needed servicing. We don't sell it as new and make no such promise.

Every unit comes with a warranty. Its appearance and battery condition are described by one of the grades: Premium, Excellent, Good or Fair. So you know in advance whether you're buying a phone with almost no marks or a cheaper one with visible scratches on the back.
