Samsung Galaxy A03s used and refurbished
The Galaxy A03s is a budget smartphone from 2021 that you unlock with your thumb the moment you press the power button – that's where Samsung put the fingerprint reader. It has a 6.5-inch screen, three rear cameras, a USB-C port and a 5000 mAh battery. It's for calls, messaging apps, photos to remember and checking timetables, not for gaming.
At SWOPiFY you'll find used and refurbished Samsung Galaxy A03s phones in the 32 GB version, in black and white. SWOPiFY partners give every unit a technical check before it's listed, and units that need a repair go to the repair shop first.
What can the Galaxy A03s do?
The PLS LCD display with HD+ resolution (720 x 1600) refreshes at 60 Hz. For reading messages, watching clips and video calls that's perfectly adequate, although in bright sunshine the picture becomes harder to read. The phone has a single speaker, which works well for speakerphone calls and notifications.
The body has a plastic back and frame and a glass front. There's no water-resistance rating. The reader in the side button is quick and you don't need to look at the screen. Wi-Fi supports only the 2.4 GHz band, so at home with a dual-band router the phone will connect to the slower network. It takes two nano-SIM cards and a microSD card at the same time.
Processor, cameras and battery
It's powered by the MediaTek Helio P35 with 3 GB of RAM in the 32 GB version. Let's be straight: it's a weak combination. Messaging apps, email, internet radio and maps work, but apps open with a delay and switching between them can be slow. On the back there's a 13 MP main camera with autofocus, a 2 MP macro camera and a 2 MP depth sensor. Daylight photos are fine for the family album, and you can record video in Full HD. On the front there's a 5 MP camera.
The 5000 mAh battery is this model's biggest strength – with moderate use it easily lasts a day. The phone accepts wired charging up to 15 W, but Samsung put a 7.75 W charger in the box. With a more powerful adapter you'll charge it noticeably faster. It doesn't support wireless charging.
What should you check before buying?
With 32 GB of eMMC 5.1 storage there's little room – the system and a few popular apps take up a large part of it. The good news: the microSD card has its own slot, so you don't have to give up your second number. The Galaxy A03s also has a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and it charges over USB-C, the same cable as most new phones.
The Galaxy A03s finished its system updates on Android 13. Security support ran out in autumn 2025 – the last patches reached this model in September 2025, four years after launch, and in October Samsung officially ended support for it. Without patches the phone is more exposed to new vulnerabilities, and banking apps may eventually refuse to work. It does the job as a backup phone, a phone for a child's first few years, for an older person who mostly makes calls, or for navigation in the car. The Galaxy A03 has a faster Unisoc T606 processor and a 48 MP camera, but it charges via micro-USB and has no fingerprint reader.
You can filter Galaxy A03s units by:
- storage – 32 GB;
- RAM – 3 GB;
- colour;
- price range;
- condition.
When you buy a Galaxy A03s, factor in a 64 or 128 GB microSD card straight away and set the camera to save photos to the card. Keep only the apps you need in the phone's storage.
How does the technical check work?
Before a Galaxy A03s goes on sale as refurbished, it goes through a 44-point checklist, including:
- screen – touch sensitivity, brightness, dead pixels and scratches on the glass;
- battery – capacity compared with a new one and no damage;
- three rear cameras and the selfie camera;
- fingerprint reader in the power button;
- connectivity – Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS;
- SIM card detection in both slots and microSD card detection;
- speaker, microphone, 3.5 mm jack and USB-C port.
Can you trust a refurbished Galaxy A03s?
A refurbished Samsung Galaxy A03s from SWOPiFY is a used phone – checked by SWOPiFY partners and, where needed, repaired. We don't sell it as brand new and never suggest that it is.
You get a warranty with the phone. What a specific unit looks like and how healthy its battery is are shown by the condition grade: Premium, Excellent, Good or Fair. With such a simple phone you can knowingly choose a cheaper unit with signs of use.
Got an old smartphone you no longer use?
Use the trade-in programme – we'll deduct the value of your old phone from the price of your new purchase. You don't waste time on adverts and haggling, and a working device can still be useful to someone.
