Samsung Galaxy A52 used and refurbished

The Galaxy A52 is a 2021 smartphone that still feels good in the hand and doesn't look its age. It has a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED screen with a 90 Hz refresh rate, a headphone jack and an IP67-rated body. This is the 4G version with a Snapdragon 720G processor – for calls, messaging apps, holiday photos and in-car navigation, it's all you need.

At SWOPiFY you'll find used and refurbished Samsung Galaxy A52 phones with 128 GB or 256 GB of storage, in black, white, blue and violet. Alongside dual-SIM versions, you'll also come across single-slot units. Every phone gets a technical check from SWOPiFY partners before it's listed, and any faults are fixed by a repair centre.

What can the Galaxy A52 do?

The screen has Full HD+ resolution and up to 800 nits in high brightness mode. Text is sharp, colours are rich, and on a sunny day you can still read a map or a message without squinting. At 90 Hz, scrolling through pages and menus looks smoother than on a regular 60 Hz panel. Sound comes from two stereo speakers, and you can plug in wired headphones without any adapter.

The back and frame are plastic, and the front is protected by Gorilla Glass 5. The IP67 rating means it's dust-tight and can withstand submersion up to a metre for 30 minutes, so the phone will survive rain or a drop into a puddle. The optical fingerprint reader is hidden under the screen. There's NFC too, so you can pay with your phone at the till.

Processor, cameras and battery

The Snapdragon 720G works with 4, 6 or 8 GB of RAM, depending on the version. Social media, YouTube, the browser and maps run without much trouble, but with lots of apps open or in new, demanding games, the chip's age starts to show. The main camera is 64 MP with optical image stabilisation, alongside a 12 MP ultra-wide lens, a 5 MP macro camera and a 5 MP depth sensor. On the front there's a 32 MP camera, and you can record video in 4K.

The 4500 mAh battery usually lasts a day of moderate use. Wired charging runs at up to 25 W and fills the battery to half in about 30 minutes. This model doesn't support wireless charging.

What should you look out for before buying?

The Galaxy A52 only works on 4G networks – no version will connect to 5G. A microSD card takes the place of the second SIM, so with two numbers you're left with the built-in storage. Many people, on the other hand, will appreciate the 3.5 mm jack – you can plug in wired headphones without any fuss.

Software support has come to an end. The phone got three major updates, all the way to Android 14 with One UI 6.1, and in spring 2025 Samsung ended support for it; it's no longer on the list of devices receiving security patches. The Galaxy A52 still works normally, but new vulnerabilities won't be fixed, and over time some apps, banking ones in particular, may stop supporting it. It's best suited to being a backup phone, a child's first smartphone, a simple phone for calls for an older person or a device for basic tasks. If you need 5G and a 120 Hz screen in almost the same body, take a look at the Galaxy A52s 5G.

You can filter Galaxy A52 phones by:

  • storage – 128 GB or 256 GB;
  • RAM – 4 to 8 GB, depending on the version;
  • colour;
  • price range;
  • condition.

Check the listing name: “1 SIM” means a single-SIM version. On the dual-SIM model, you choose between a second number and a memory card. For calls, messaging apps and photos, 128 GB is usually enough.

What does the technical check involve?

Before a Galaxy A52 goes on sale as refurbished, it goes through a 44-point checklist, including:

  • screen – touch response, brightness, dead pixels and scratches on the glass;
  • battery – cell health and its physical condition;
  • all cameras, the four rear ones and the front one;
  • the optical fingerprint reader under the screen;
  • connectivity – LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC and SIM card detection;
  • 3.5 mm headphone jack and USB-C port;
  • both speakers and the microphones.

Can you trust a refurbished Galaxy A52?

A refurbished Samsung Galaxy A52 from SWOPiFY is a used phone that SWOPiFY partners have checked and, where needed, repaired. We don't pretend it's new kit and never suggest that it is.

Your purchase includes a warranty. The condition of each unit's casing and battery is described by one of four grades: Premium, Excellent, Good or Fair. For a backup phone or one for a child, a cheaper unit with light scratches often makes more sense than one with no signs of use.
