Samsung Galaxy A03 Core used and refurbished
The Galaxy A03 Core is a phone with a big 6.5-inch screen and a 5000 mAh battery, built on Android Go Edition. Samsung unveiled it at the end of 2021 for people who mainly want a smartphone for calls, a messaging app, photos and internet access. The simple interface and lightweight apps make it easy to find your way around, even for someone just switching from a keypad phone.
At SWOPiFY you'll find used and refurbished Samsung Galaxy A03 Core phones – the model came in a 32 GB version with 2 GB of RAM, in black or blue. Before a unit goes on sale, SWOPiFY partners check its technical condition, and if they find a fault, the phone goes for repair.
What can the Galaxy A03 Core do?
The PLS LCD display has 720 × 1600 pixels and a teardrop notch. Large letters and icons are easy to see on it, which people with weaker eyesight will appreciate, and the screen works fine for films and family photos too. Sound comes from a single speaker, and you can plug wired headphones into the 3.5 mm jack.
The back and frame are plastic, and the phone weighs 211 grams – that's quite a lot, but it comes from the large battery. There's no fingerprint reader, so you secure the phone with a PIN, a pattern or a password. It takes two nano-SIM cards plus, separately, a microSD card of up to 1 TB.
Processor, cameras and battery
The phone is powered by an eight-core Unisoc SC9863A with 2 GB of RAM. Android Go and lighter apps help it stay reasonably smooth for basic tasks: calls, texts, WhatsApp, the browser and YouTube. With demanding games, photo editing or several apps open at once, it becomes clear that this is entry-level hardware. On the back there's a single 8 MP camera with autofocus and an LED flash, and on the front a 5 MP one.
With an efficient processor and an HD screen, the 5000 mAh battery usually lets you forget about the charger for the whole day. You charge it via microUSB, and this model doesn't support fast charging.
What should you check before buying?
32 GB of eMMC storage isn't much – the system and apps fill it up quickly, so it's a good idea to buy a microSD card for photos and videos straight away. The port is microUSB, there's no NFC, and the screen has HD resolution and a standard refresh rate. Some Google apps run here in simplified Go versions, which look a little different from those on full Android.
The Galaxy A03 Core got two major updates: from Android 11 Go it moved to Android 12 Go and then to Android 13 Go. It received its last security patches in 2025 and is no longer on the list of devices Samsung updates. New vulnerabilities will therefore stay unpatched, and banking apps may stop supporting it over time. As a phone for an older relative for calls and looking at photos of the grandchildren, a child's first phone or a spare number for the allotment, it still makes sense. The Galaxy A03s offers full Android, a fingerprint reader and 15 W charging.
You can filter Galaxy A03 Core units by:
- storage – 32 GB;
- RAM – 2 GB;
- colour;
- price range;
- condition.
As all units have the same memory configuration, focus on the condition of the device and the battery when choosing. For a phone for an older relative, add a microSD card straight away – photos and videos from messaging apps then won't clog up the built-in storage.
How does the technical check work?
Before a Galaxy A03 Core goes on sale as refurbished, it goes through a 44-point checklist, including:
- screen – touch across the whole surface, backlight, dead pixels and glass;
- battery – its health and the appearance of the cell;
- main camera and selfie camera;
- power and volume buttons;
- connectivity – Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and mobile data;
- reading of both nano-SIM cards and the microSD card;
- speaker, microphone, headphone input and microUSB port.
Can you trust a refurbished Galaxy A03 Core?
A refurbished Samsung Galaxy A03 Core from SWOPiFY is a used phone that has had a technical check by SWOPiFY partners and – where needed – a repair. We don't pass it off as new and never suggest that it is.
You buy it with a warranty. Every unit has one of four condition grades: Premium, Excellent, Good or Fair, describing the appearance of the body and the battery health. For an older person who will use the phone every day, a higher grade with a stronger battery is a good fit.
