The Galaxy M52 5G is remarkably slim for a phone with a 6.7-inch screen: it's 7.4 mm thick and weighs 173 g, so despite the big display it sits nicely in the hand. The Super AMOLED Plus screen refreshes at 120 Hz, and inside is the Snapdragon 778G – in autumn 2021, when the phone came out, one of the more powerful mid-range chips.

What can the Galaxy M52 5G do?
The screen has Full HD+ resolution, and you'll appreciate the smooth 120 Hz when scrolling through social media and in games that support higher refresh rates. The front is protected by Gorilla Glass 5, while the back and frame are plastic – hence the low weight. Sound comes from a single speaker, so headphones are the better choice for films.

Processor, cameras and battery
The Snapdragon 778G with 6 or 8 GB of RAM, depending on the version, still performs well. Everyday apps open quickly, and most games run smoothly on medium settings. There are three cameras on the back: a 64 MP main, a 12 MP ultra-wide and a 5 MP macro. The main camera has no optical stabilisation, so after dark your photos come out weaker than on phones with OIS. On the front is a 32 MP camera that records 4K video.
The battery is 5000 mAh and lasts a full day with typical use. Wired charging works at up to 25 W; there's no wireless charging.
What should you check before buying?
The Galaxy M52 5G has no 3.5 mm headphone jack, so you'll need a USB-C adapter for wired headphones. The microSD card goes into the same tray as the second SIM – it's either two numbers or more storage. You'll only get the full 25 W with a USB-C power adapter that supports Samsung fast charging.
The phone no longer receives updates. It launched with Android 11 and ended on Android 13 with One UI 5.1 – it never got Android 14. In November 2025 Samsung removed it from the list of devices getting security patches, so as of October 2026 new vulnerabilities in the system aren't being fixed. Some banking apps may stop supporting it over time, and it's best not to keep important data on it. Still, the capable processor and good screen make it a sensible backup phone or a child's first smartphone for basic tasks. If you need current support, choose the Galaxy M35 5G, which still gets quarterly patches.
