T Phone Smartphones used and refurbished

T Phone is a phone that didn't come from an electronics maker but from a mobile operator. Deutsche Telekom launched the line in autumn 2022 in several European countries, including Poland, where T-Mobile sold it. The idea was simple: 5G at a budget smartphone price. There are no fireworks here, but then nobody promised any.

In this category you'll find used and refurbished T Phone smartphones from the first two years: the 2022 T Phone 5G, the T Phone Pro 5G from the same generation and the 2023 T Phone 5G. Before going on sale, every handset goes through a technical check with SWOPiFY partners and, if anything needed fixing, a repair too.

Which T Phone models will you find in this category?

All three models share the same MediaTek Dimensity 700 chip, 5G support, an HD+ screen and a microSD card slot. The differences are in the details. The basic 2022 T Phone has 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of storage and a 4500 mAh battery. It's the simplest version – fine as a spare phone or a first smartphone for a child who mainly needs to call and text.

The 2022 T Phone Pro adds 6 GB of RAM, 128 GB of storage, a larger 6.82-inch screen, a 5000 mAh battery and wireless charging. The 2023 T Phone, meanwhile, is a refreshed basic version: still 4 GB of RAM, but now with 128 GB of storage and NFC, so you can pay contactlessly with it. It launched with Android 13.

The operator later released further generations, the T Phone 2 and T Phone 3, but this category currently features models from the first two years.

Why consider a refurbished T Phone?

A refurbished T Phone costs less than the same model bought new, and with a phone that was budget by design, that means a really low entry point into 5G. If you need a second phone for work, for travel or for someone who's just getting started with smartphones, there's no point overpaying.

There's a second, less obvious reason too. It's easy to see a cheap operator phone as disposable and stick it in a drawer after the first change of contract. When it goes back into circulation, someone else gets to use a device that already exists. That doesn't make the purchase a fully green gesture, but it does cut the number of working phones that end up as e-waste.

What should you check before buying?

The key issue is updates. Telekom announced monthly security patches for T Phone devices for three years, followed by quarterly updates in the fourth year. Going by that announcement, support for the 2022 models is just coming to an end, and the 2023 T Phone has already moved to quarterly updates. If you plan to use the phone for several years, choose the 2023 model. Second thing: the basic 2022 T Phone has no NFC, and the 2023 model has just one nanoSIM slot, with no eSIM.

In this category you can filter T Phone smartphones by:

  • storage – 64 GB or 128 GB;
  • RAM – 4 GB or 6 GB;
  • colour;
  • price range;
  • condition.

64 GB fills up quickly, but all models support microSD cards, so you can move photos and music to a card. If battery life and a big screen matter, go for the Pro version. For paying by phone and the longest support, the 2023 T Phone is the better fit.

What does the technical check involve?

Before a phone goes on sale, it goes through a 44-point checklist. The checks include, among other things:

  • the screen – touch and cosmetic condition;
  • the battery – health and physical condition;
  • all cameras, front and rear;
  • the fingerprint reader and face recognition;
  • connectivity – Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and NFC on models that have it;
  • SIM card and microSD card detection;
  • microphone and speaker;
  • ports and connectors.

The checks are carried out by SWOPiFY partners – electronics refurbishment specialists chosen through a multi-stage selection process. They're the ones who decide whether a handset needs repairing before it goes back on sale.

Can you trust refurbished T Phone smartphones?

The refurbished T Phone smartphones in this category are used devices. We don't sell them as new, and we never suggest they are. The condition of each handset is described by one of four grades: Premium, Very good, Good or Fair. The grade sets the requirements for the look of the body, battery health and the parts used.

Every purchase comes with a warranty. If something doesn't work as it should, you have formal grounds for a claim, not just a seller's word in a classified ad.
